An Amtgard Heritage of Women Warriors

Because our history is precious, and should not be forgotten; because the past shapes us as we create the future; because the strength of our victories is a weapon in our battles, we must remember and preserve our heritage.

Women have been fighting in Amtgard from the very beginning of the game: the first monarch was chosen by right of arms (won in tourney), and the winner became Amtgard's first Queen, Tawnee Darkfalcon. The first Champion was also a woman, Sir Joella Starwatcher. Fighting women are as much a part of Amtgard's heritage as any other part of the game.
